I don’t know what I was thinking about while eating my lunch today.
Most probably about the characters in the show I’m currently watching.
Or maybe I was wondering how my kitchen chimney actually works.
Or perhaps I got distracted by the rain outside and spent a few minutes thinking about why everything looks a little more beautiful when it rains.
The funny thing is…
I can’t remember.
And that made me wonder.
What if my brain had a search history?
Not the one on my laptop.
The one inside my head.
I’d love to scroll through it at the end of every day.
Maybe it would look something like this:
12:07 PM – How does a kitchen chimney know where the smoke goes?
12:11 PM – Why do rainy days feel more peaceful than sunny ones?
12:14 PM – What happens to the characters after the movie ends?
12:16 PM – Why did I walk into the kitchen again?
And somewhere between all those wonderfully random thoughts would probably be the important ones too…
The people I miss.
A conversation I keep replaying.
Something I’m looking forward to.
Something I forgot to do.
I think I’d laugh more than I’d judge myself.
Because our minds are strange little places.
They don’t move in straight lines.
They wander, they get distracted, they revisit old memories, and they leave half-finished thoughts lying around like open tabs in a browser.
Not every thought needs an answer.
Some are just passing visitors that make an ordinary day a little more interesting.
If my brain really had a search history…
I don’t think I’d clear it.
I’d probably make myself a cup of tea, keep scrolling, and smile at all the wonderfully random places my mind had travelled without ever leaving the room.
Because somewhere between the important thoughts and the completely unnecessary ones…
…is an ordinary day that I’ll probably never remember.
And somehow, I think that’s what makes it beautiful.
So I’ll leave a little more room…
For unfinished thoughts.
For wonderfully unnecessary questions.
And for tomorrow’s search history.
