What’s growth?

Is anything changing after all the effort?

Is it taking me in the right direction?

Yes, we all feel that when we are in the process, and the path seems long and never ending, and you don’t really see the changes that frequently… or sometimes not at all.

It gets tiring to keep yourself motivated over the long run, but still you keep hustling, you keep working… even though you don’t see much changing around you.

Now when I think about it, even though nothing physically is changing around you, or you cannot tangibly see that change, internally in your thoughts a lot of things are changing. You are changing.
Your mindset, your resilience, your dedication, and most importantly the honesty about the thing that you truly want to do.

It is so rightly said that if you do something for 21 days, you start falling in love with that thing. It becomes a lifestyle, it becomes muscle memory, it becomes a habit. Yes of course except the days when your body has given up and you are unwell.

Personally I have been quite unwell for the past few days, and especially when you are trying to follow a healthy lifestyle it becomes very demotivating. When you have already planned the workout that you are going to do, but your body is not allowing you to even get up from the bed. It’s frustrating, it’s demotivating like anything.

But somewhere in the middle of this frustration, I realised something — the very thing that was making me feel demotivated was actually a good habit.

Because earlier missing a workout probably wouldn’t have bothered me this much. But now it does.

So on the bright side I realised that the mindset towards working out and maintaining a healthier lifestyle has actually changed in me. Even though my body is not at a stage to celebrate yet, that shift in mindset itself is a win for me.

Or maybe I am just being optimistic… just trying to get something good out of a bad situation! 😉

Anywhoo, the whole point is we don’t always see the physical change when we start doing something. But if you think a little deeper, it’s the mindset shift, the motivated new you, the aware you that is slowly shaping inside you , and maybe that’s what growth really looks like, not always pretty or visible, but honest in the way it quietly changes you from within.
