People say I am like my Dad
As I act and behave like him
In most the situations
I even respond like him.
I feel proud and honoured
If someone feels I am like him
After all, he is my idol and
I have learned a thousand life lessons from him.
Yes he did protect me in many situations
He did scold me for many more
But one thing he never taught me
To give up on my dreams at any cost.
I would blabber all about my problems
And would complain about the things
Which aren’t going right
He would simply say,
Calm down, everything is going to be all right.
He would keep a straight face
And listen to me with patience
As he knows the problems of mine are so small
And I have many more to face in this life’s race
I have seen him struggling
To give me a better life and a safe space
I witnessed his hard work and passion
And calculating a thousand possibilities for me
Before taking any decision.
I proudly say I am a “Daddy’s Girl”
And why not , when he is the one
Who actually has given me
the courage, strength and a beautiful life after all .
